Watch: Meet creators in the community

How to chat, connect and get feedback from other creators in the Deaku community. Watch the tutorial (1:29)

To access Communities, make sure you are in Community view which is toggled at the top left of the screen.

Communities are designed to help creators connect, share, and grow together. We know content creation can be isolating - and isolation is one of the biggest drivers of creator burnout. Communities give you a space to collaborate, exchange feedback, and find support from others in your niche or with similar goals or interests.

Communities can be public or private, and each one has its own members and chats. Within a community, you can share media for feedback, swap learnings, invite collaborations, and more.

Community Chat

Each community you join has a dedicated Community Chat visible in your Chat sidebar. In these chats you can:

  • Share Media and Canvases for feedback.
  • Organise collaborations.
  • Experiment!

Community chats also have a Feed for longer posts, shown alongside the chat (or as a separate tab on smaller screens). Hover over a message and click the thread icon to reply in a thread, and use the Threads button at the top right to see them all. Community chats accept images, video and audio files.

Community Feedback

You can get feedback on the media you upload into a workspace. Simply copy the link to that media into a Community Chat to allow the members of that community to view and comment with their feedback on your media.

To request feedback on your media, copy and paste the media link, or click the Add (+) media to share it in a Community Chat. Members can then view and comment directly in the Video Review system.

External DMs

Below Communities, you will see External DMs for users you have a direct chat with outside of your workspaces, along with your group chats and any connections you haven't messaged yet. These function just like any other direct chat, enabling audio and video calls, and the sharing of files, GIFs, and emojis.

Group Chats

Group chats appear in the External DMs list. To create a group chat, press the ‘+’ icon to the right of External DMs. Choose two or more people to add - your connections, people who share a workspace with you, or people who accept messages from everyone. Give the group a name, add an image if you like, and then tap Create Group. Group chats can have up to 15 members.

Choosing just one person starts a direct chat instead.
