Mobile Notifications

Deaku mobile has two notification layers:

1. Push notifications - alerts delivered to your device even when the app is closed
2. In-app notifications - a feed inside the app on the Notifications tab (bell icon)

In-app notifications (the Notifications tab)

Tap the bell icon (middle position in the bottom tab bar) to open the Notifications tab.

The tab icon shows a red dot when you have unread notifications.

What the Notifications tab shows

Each notification row includes:

• An icon representing the notification type (workspace, project, video, proposal, connection, etc.)
• A bold title for unread notifications; regular weight for read ones
• A message line with extra context
• A timestamp (e.g. "2m ago", "3h ago", "2d ago")
• A purple dot on the right for unread items

Notifications are ordered newest-first.

Opening the Notifications tab marks your unread notifications as read, except workspace invites, which stay highlighted until you accept or decline them. You can also swipe a row to the left and tap Read, or tap Mark all read at the top of the screen.

Notification types

The app handles notifications for:

• Workspace - invites, role changes, member joins/leaves
• Projects & Tasks - assignments, status changes, notes, mentions
• Video & Media - uploads, comments, retention potential review results
• Canvases - mentions, comments, sharing
• Calendar - event reminders, milestone due dates
• Connections - new requests, acceptances, declines
• Proposals - received, replied, accepted, declined

Opening a notification

Tap any notification row to mark it as read and navigate to the relevant part of the app. Depending on the notification type, the app routes you to the relevant chat channel, proposal detail, canvas, or the Find People tab (for connections), or opens the web-app for features not yet in the mobile app. Tapping a workspace invite opens a pop-up where you can accept or decline it.

If the notification belongs to a different workspace, the app switches workspaces automatically before navigating.

Push notifications

Push notifications work on physical devices. When you first sign in, Deaku asks permission to send you push notifications.

Granting permission

A native permission dialog appears automatically a few seconds after you log in. Tap Allow to enable push notifications.

If you decline or later want to change this, go to Settings > Notifications (tap your avatar in the top-right corner, then Settings) and toggle Push Notifications on. If your device has denied permission at the system level, a warning banner will appear - tap it to go directly to your device's Settings app.

You can individually toggle push notifications for Projects & Tasks, Canvases, Connections, Proposals, and Billing receipts (monthly payment confirmations). Critical billing alerts, such as a failed payment, are always sent and cannot be turned off. These toggles are disabled when the master Push Notifications toggle is off.
