Mobile Communities
MobileCommunities on Deaku mobile give you a dedicated space for creator networks, group conversations, and public channels outside your workspaces. The Community tab (people icon, second in the bottom bar) is where all of this lives.
What the Community tab shows
The Community tab lists two types of conversation:
- Communities - shown at the top of the list
- Direct messages (DMs) and Group chats - shown at the bottom under the Direct messages section header
Workspace channels are intentionally excluded here. Those live in the Chat tab (bottom left chat icon).
The list shows:
- Cards for communities with their name, icon and member count
- Group names with a people icon for group chats
- The other person's avatar with an online/offline dot for DMs
A red dot indicates a DM or @mention; a blue dot indicates other unread activity.
Use the Search communities, groups & DMs bar at the top to filter the list by name.
Navigating into a channel
Direct messages
Tapping a DM opens the standard chat view in full screen. All the same features apply: replies, reactions, file sharing, GIFs, and workspace item sharing. Swipe to go back.
Communities
Tapping a community channel opens a three-tab view:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Feed | Posts - longer-form content and announcements with comments |
| Chat | The real-time message channel, identical to workspace chat but with members of that community |
| Members | A list of everyone in the community |
The channel name and a back arrow appear in the header above the tabs.
Feed tab
The Feed shows community posts in a scrollable list. Posts are different from regular chat messages - they are meant for announcements or longer content. Scroll to read, add comments, and use the Chat tab for real-time discussion.
- Create a post - tap the + button (or Create Post when the feed is empty) to write a New Post, with text and optional photos or videos, then tap Post.
- React - add an emoji reaction to any post.
- Comment - tap the comment button to open the full post and its replies.
- Edit or delete - tap the three dots on your own post to edit or delete it. On other people's posts in a community, the menu lets you report the post.
Chat tab
Works exactly like any other chat channel. See the Mobile Chat article for full details on sending messages, replying, reacting, attaching files, and sharing workspace items.
Members tab
The Members tab shows everyone in the channel. Each row shows the member's avatar and display name, with an Admin badge for the community owner.
Refreshing the channel list
Pull down on the channel list to manually refresh. The list also updates in real time when new messages arrive or members join or leave.
