Workspace Settings
WorkspacesWorkspace Settings controls everything about a specific workspace - its identity, who's in it, what they can do, how much storage it has, and which social channels are connected. Only certain roles can access or change each setting.
To open Workspace Settings, open the workspace, then click the Settings icon (the cog icon in the workspace sidebar or header).

General Settings
Workspace name
Click the pencil (edit) icon next to the workspace name to rename it. 30 characters maximum. Click Save to confirm. Requires the Change Workspace Name permission (Owners and Admins by default).
Workspace logo
Click Upload New to upload a logo image. Click the trash icon next to it to remove the logo and revert to auto-generated initials. Requires the Change Workspace Icon permission.
Workspace ID
Below the logo, the workspace's unique internal ID is shown. Useful for support requests.
Danger Zone - Delete Workspace
Only the workspace Owner can delete a workspace. Your personal workspace can't be deleted.
- Click Delete Workspace.
- A popup dialog describes what will be permanently removed: all media, canvases, projects, and chat history.
- Click Delete Workspace again to confirm. This cannot be undone.
Collaborators
How to invite people to your workspace, choose their roles and start working together. Watch the tutorial (1:23)
This section shows everyone in the workspace, their roles, and any pending invitations.
Roles explained
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control. Can delete the workspace. Always exactly one Owner. |
| Admin | Can manage members, change settings, and access all features. Pro workspaces only. |
| Manager | Can manage projects, media, and content. Cannot change core settings. Pro workspaces only. |
| User | Standard member. Can create and edit content according to permissions. |
| Viewer | Read-only access. Can view content but cannot create or edit. Pro workspaces only. |
When you choose a role for someone, Deaku shows a short description of what that role can do.
The Owner is shown with a purple ring and crown icon. Your own entry is shown with a green ring.
Inviting a new member
- Click the Add button in the Collaborators section header.
- On the Search & Invite tab, search for a Deaku user by name or username, or enter an email address under Invite by Email to invite someone who hasn't signed up yet.
- Choose the role to assign them.
- Click Send Invitation.
Existing Deaku users receive an in-app notification. Email invitees receive an email, and once they sign up the invite is waiting for them to accept.
You can also share an invite code instead. On the Invite Codes tab, create a code with a role and an optional usage limit, then send it to the person - they enter it using Join a workspace.
Some people choose who is allowed to invite them to a workspace (in their Account Settings). If someone can't be invited, share an invite code with them instead.
Free workspace member limit: Free workspaces have a collaborator limit. If you've reached it, the Add button is disabled with a tooltip explaining the limit.
Pro-only roles: Admin, Manager and Viewer roles are only available in Pro workspaces. Free workspaces have Owner and User roles. Upgrade from your Account Settings at any time.
Changing a member's role
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to any member (except the Owner and yourself) and choose Change Role.
- A list of available roles appears.
- Click a role to apply it. The affected member receives an in-app notification.
Removing a member
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the member.
- Select Remove Member.
- Confirm in the dialog.
Removing a member revokes access immediately, removes them from all workspace channels in chat, and auto-deletes any empty private channels they were the last member of. The removed member receives a notification. The Owner cannot be removed.
Pending invitations
Below the active member list, a Pending Invitations section shows:
- Pending (amber badge) - sent to an existing Deaku user who hasn't responded yet.
- Email Invite (blue badge) - sent to an email address for someone who hasn't signed up yet.
Click the ✕ button on any invite to cancel it.
Storage Management
Storage overview cards
Five summary cards at the top:
- Total Allocated — combined storage contributed by all members (in GB).
- Currently Used — how much is actively used by files and media.
- Contributors — number of members who have allocated storage to this workspace.
- Utilisation — percentage in use. Green (healthy), amber (warning at 85%), or red (critical at 95%).
- In Trash — storage consumed by trashed files. When there is something in the trash, click View trash to open the Trash modal where you can restore or permanently delete items.
Member allocations
Each member with an active allocation is listed with their avatar, display name, allocated GB, and a progress bar showing usage.
To adjust an allocation, go to your own Account Settings, then under Storage, click the allocation field for that workspace, enter a new GB value, then tap Save All Changes. The Allocate More Storage button in this section takes you straight there.
Trash management
Click View trash on the In Trash card to open the Trash modal:
- See all trashed files with their sizes
- Restore individual files to the media library
- Permanently delete files to immediately free up storage
Workspace Upgrades
Coming soon - optional paid add-ons for the workspace, such as extra storage, file transfer capabilities, and additional team member slots.
Connected Social Accounts
Link social media accounts to the workspace and organise them into Account Groups.
What are Account Groups?
Account Groups organise related social accounts under a single brand or content stream. For example, a "Main Brand" group might contain a YouTube channel, Instagram account, and TikTok account.
Account Groups are a Pro workspace feature. Free workspaces can view this section but cannot create new groups.
Creating an Account Group
- Click New Account Group (Pro workspaces only).
- Enter a name (e.g., "Main Brand" or "Podcast").
- Optionally add a description and choose a colour to visually distinguish the group.
- Click Create Group.
Connecting a social account
- Click Add Account at the top of the section, or Add on an Account Group.
- Choose the platform (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Enter a display name, your handle and your profile URL, and pick an Account Group (or leave it ungrouped).
- Save, and the account appears within the group.
Editing or deleting an Account Group
Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on any group header and choose Edit Group or Delete Group. Deleting a group does not disconnect the social accounts - they return to an ungrouped state.
Requires the Connect Socials permission (Owners and Admins by default).
Integrations
Connect AI tools such as Claude Desktop or Cursor to this workspace with Deaku MCP. This is a Pro feature, and you need at least the User role to create keys.
- Click Generate API Key.
- Give the key a name, then copy it. The key is only shown once, so store it somewhere safe.
- Open How to connect for the settings to paste into your AI tool.
To revoke a key, click the bin icon next to it, then Revoke Key. A workspace can have up to 25 active keys.
For the full guide, see Deaku MCP.
