Notifications
CollaborationNotifications keep you up to date with activity across Deaku, including updates from Chat, Workspaces, and other tools. Access it anytime by clicking the bell icon in the top bar of the interface (in the centre toolbar on desktop).
How to use the notification bell so you never miss a mention, comment or task, and how to change what you're notified about. Watch the tutorial (1:13)
The Notification Bell
The bell icon displays a badge showing your current unread count (up to 99+):
- A red badge means you have new notifications that have arrived since you last opened the panel.
- A blue badge means you have notifications you've manually marked as unread to come back to later.
Clicking the bell opens the Notification Dropdown, a scrollable panel showing your most recent activity. From here you can:
- Click any notification to navigate directly to the related item (a project, video, event, canvas, etc.).
- Mark individual notifications as read or unread using the eye icon on each item.
- Click Mark all read to clear your unread count in one action.
- Click the Add to my tasks icon on a notification to turn it into a task in your Tasks list. Deaku can also do this automatically - choose which notifications become tasks in Task settings.

Push Notifications
Deaku supports browser push notifications so you can stay up to date even when Deaku isn't open in your browser.
When you use Deaku on a computer, a pop-up next to the bell asks whether you'd like to enable push notifications. You can:
- Click Enable Notifications to grant permission and start receiving push notifications.
- Click the × to dismiss it. The pop-up won't appear again, but you can still turn push notifications on from the notification dropdown.
- Click the info icon for a full explanation of what push notifications are and how Deaku uses them.
To enable push notifications later, open the notification dropdown and look for the permissions banner. On phones and smaller screens, this banner is where you'll be asked.
Notification Preferences
You can customise exactly which notifications you receive under Settings > Notifications, in the Notification Preferences section.
Notifications are organised into eight categories: Workspace, Projects, Tasks, Videos, Canvas, Connections, Events and Billing. Use the switch next to each notification type to turn it on or off.
Changes are saved automatically.
Notification Sounds
You can turn the notification sound on or off in Settings > Notifications under Sound (Chat notification sound). When enabled, Deaku plays a subtle sound when you receive a new chat message.
