Proposals

Collaboration

Proposals are Deaku's structured way to pitch collaboration, sponsorship, job opportunities, and more - directly to another creator on the platform. Instead of a vague message, a Proposal gives both parties a clear, documented offer they can discuss, negotiate, and formally accept or decline.

Sending a Proposal

You can send a Proposal from any creator's profile. The Send Proposal button appears on a profile when that user has proposals enabled, or when you are already connected with them.

Step 1. Choose a proposal type

When you open the proposal composer, select the type that best describes your offer:

  • Brand Integration — Sponsorships, product placements, and brand partnerships
  • Collaboration — Creator-to-creator content collaborations
  • Business Opportunity — Partnerships, ventures, and business proposals
  • Job Offer — Employment and freelance opportunities
  • Other — Custom proposals that don't fit the above

Step 2. Add your details

Give your proposal a Title and a Description that summarises what you're offering.

You can then add optional structured fields from the Add More Details dropdown. For example, budget, platforms, content types, deadlines, payment terms, and usage rights. The available fields vary by proposal type, so you'll always see the most relevant options for the kind of deal you're putting forward.

You can also attach files (images, video, audio, or documents) to support your proposal.

Step 3. Send

When you're happy, hit Send Proposal. The recipient is notified instantly.

Saving as a template

If you regularly send similar proposals, you can save your current draft as a Template so you can reuse it in future. Templates are private to you and can be accessed when composing a new proposal.

Receiving a Proposal

Incoming proposals appear in your Proposals inbox under the Received tab. To open it, switch to Community view and click Proposals in the toolbar at the top. Proposals with unread activity show a red badge.

When you open a proposal, you'll see:

  • The full proposal details and any structured fields the sender added
  • Attachments they've included
  • The discussion thread (comments)

Responding to a proposal

From the proposal detail view you have several options:

  • Accept — Accept the proposal. The sender receives a notification. Once accepted, the proposal is marked with a green Accepted badge. You'll then see some suggested next steps, such as connecting with the sender, creating a shared workspace, or inviting them to one of your workspaces.
  • Decline — Decline the proposal. It is automatically archived for you and the sender is notified. You can only decline proposals in Proposed or Replied status.
  • Comment — Leave a reply in the discussion thread. As soon as either party replies, the proposal status changes to Replied.

The proposer (sender) can also Edit the proposal content while it is still Proposed or Replied.

DeclinedThe recipient declined

The Sent tab

All proposals you've sent are in the Sent tab. You can track their status, open the discussion thread, or edit the proposal content.

Archiving proposals

Both parties can archive proposals independently. Archiving removes a proposal from your active list without affecting the other person's view.

To archive, hover over a proposal card and click the Archive icon, or select multiple proposals and use the bulk Archive action from the bar that appears at the top.

Archived proposals are available any time in the Archived tab, where you can also unarchive them.

Bulk actions

Select multiple proposals using the checkboxes on each card. With proposals selected, you can:

  • Archive selected proposals (available on Sent and Received tabs)
  • Decline selected received proposals in bulk (only proposals you haven't already responded to)

Proposal limits

To keep Deaku a healthy place to be for all creators:

  • You can send a maximum of 10 proposals per day.
  • There is a 14-day cooldown before you can send another proposal to the same person. If a proposal is accepted, this cooldown resets.
  • If a user has disabled proposals in their settings, you can only send them one if you are already connected.

Your remaining daily allowance is shown in the proposal composer before you send.

Controlling who can propose to you

Go to Settings > Privacy & Preferences and look for Collaboration Proposals under Privacy Settings. Turn it off if you'd prefer only your connections to be able to send you proposals.
