Deaku MCP

Assistant & Agent

Deaku MCP lets you connect the AI tools you already use - like Cursor or Claude Code - straight to your Deaku workspace. Once connected, your AI can see your projects, tasks, canvases and calendar, and work in them for you, without you copying and pasting between apps.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way AI apps connect to other tools. You don't need to know how it works - you just generate a key in Deaku and paste it into your AI app.

Deaku MCP is a Pro feature.

What can my AI do once connected?

  • Projects and tasks - find, create and update projects, tasks and subtasks (including your own Tasks list), and mark deliverables.
  • Canvases - read, create and edit canvases, and use your templates.
  • Calendar - see what's coming up, and create, move or delete events.
  • Media - browse, tag and organise your media, upload new files, and look at your thumbnails.
  • Chat - read and search your channels, and send messages or share items.
  • Insights - read your workspace activity and content strategy.

How do I set it up?

1. Generate an API key in Deaku

  1. Open the workspace you want to connect.
  2. Click the cog icon to open Workspace Settings, then scroll to Integrations.
  3. Click Generate API Key, give it a name you'll recognise (e.g. "Cursor"), then click Generate Key.
  4. Copy the key straight away. It's only shown once.

2. Add Deaku to your AI app

The server address is:

https://www.deaku.app/api/mcp

Make sure it includes www - without it, the connection won't work.

Cursor - open Cursor's MCP settings, add a new MCP server, and paste in the config below.

Claude Code - run this in your terminal:

```
claude mcp add --transport http deaku https://www.deaku.app/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR-API-KEY"
```

Other MCP apps - any app that lets you add a server address with a custom header will work. Most accept this config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "deaku": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://www.deaku.app/api/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR-API-KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}

Replace YOUR-API-KEY with the key you copied. You'll also find this config under How to connect in the Integrations section.

3. Try it

Ask your AI something like "What's due in my Deaku workspace this week?"

Is it safe?

  • One key, one workspace. Each key connects to one workspace only. To connect another, open that workspace and generate a key there.
  • Your AI can only do what you can do. It acts as you and follows your role and permissions in that workspace.
  • It's clear about what it did. Messages sent through MCP carry a Via Deaku MCP label, so your team knows an AI sent them on your behalf.
  • Nothing gets permanently deleted. Your AI can't delete projects, canvases or media, or change members, roles, settings or billing.
  • You can switch it off anytime. In Integrations, click the bin icon next to a key and choose Revoke Key. Any app using it loses access immediately.

Good to know

  • You need at least the User role in a workspace to create a key.
  • Each workspace can have up to 25 active keys. The key list shows when each one was last used, so it's easy to spot and revoke old ones.
  • If your Pro plan ends, your keys pause. They'll work again if you upgrade.
  • Don't want to set up another app? Deaku Agent gives you the same abilities inside Deaku's own chat.
