Deaku Agent
Assistant & AgentThe Deaku Agent is the version of Deaku Assistant that gets things done. The Assistant thinks with you - it answers questions, gives feedback and drafts ideas. The Agent works for you - it can create and update projects, tasks, canvases and events in your workspace, and message your team, all from a single chat.
Tell it what you need in plain English, like "Set up a project for next week's upload with a script canvas and tasks for filming and editing", and it does the work.
The Agent is a Pro feature and runs on your own AI key from Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. You pay the provider directly - we don't take a cut, and it never uses your Deaku Assistant allowance.
What can the Agent do?
Everything the Assistant can, plus it can take action:
- Projects - create, update, duplicate and archive projects, and mark deliverables.
- Tasks - create tasks and subtasks, assign them, set due dates and update their status. Say "remind me to…" and it adds a task to your own Tasks list.
- Canvases - create canvases (from scratch or from a template), write and edit their content, and save canvases as templates.
- Calendar - create, move and delete events.
- Media - rename, tag and organise your media into folders.
- Chat - send messages and share items with your team in channels and DMs.
- Research - read your workspace and content strategy, and search the web.
It can handle several steps in one go, so one message can become a project, a canvas and a set of tasks.
How do I set it up?
1 - Upgrade to Pro. If you're on a Deaku Scale team or with a Network Partner, you're already covered.
2 - Get an API key from one of these providers: - Anthropic (Claude) - console.anthropic.com - OpenAI (GPT) - platform.openai.com/api-keys - Google (Gemini) - aistudio.google.com/apikey
A ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro subscription is not the same as an API key. You'll need an account with the provider's developer platform, with billing set up.
3 - Add your key to Deaku. Click your profile picture ’ Account Settings ’ Deaku Assistant, then paste your key under API keys and click Save. We check the key with the provider straight away.
4 - Switch to the Agent. Under AI Model, choose Deaku Agent for the provider you added a key for.
You can also do steps 3 and 4 from the chat itself: click the model switcher at the top of the Assistant chat, then Add key next to your provider.
How do I use it?
Open the Assistant in the right sidebar and check the switcher at the top says Agent. Then just ask. You can @mention projects, canvases, media and people, or paste an image, to give it exactly the right context.
While it works, you'll see each step it takes and which workspace it's acting in.
Is it safe?
- It only does what you can do. The Agent follows your role and permissions in the workspace. If you can't delete something, neither can it.
- It only works in the workspace you have open. It never touches your other workspaces.
- It checks with you first before anything significant - deleting or archiving, changing someone else's work, messaging a large channel, or publishing.
- It's clear about what it did. Messages it sends carry a Via Deaku Agent label, so your team knows they came from the Agent on your behalf.
- It can't permanently delete your projects, tasks or canvases - the most it can do is archive a project.
- Your key stays private. It's encrypted, never shown again after saving, and only used for your own chats.
Good to know
- The Agent works in the Assistant chat, not in the canvas AI Edit tool.
- Very large requests may stop partway. Click Continue and it picks up where it left off without repeating anything.
- If your key stops working, it will show as Not working in settings. Remove it and add a new one.
