Profile
AccountYour Profile is your personal space on Deaku. It displays your profile picture, display name, username, bio, social links, badges, and achievements to other users, and serves as your public presence on the platform.
Profiles are accessible at deaku.app/profile/[your-username] and are optimised for link sharing - when you share your profile link on other platforms it generates a rich preview with your name, bio, and avatar.
What's on Your Profile
- Avatar and display name - your primary identity on Deaku.
- Pro badge - shown on your avatar on your public profile page if you're a paid member.
- Username - displayed beneath your name as @username.
- Selected badges - up to 3 earned badges you've chosen to highlight (configured in Account Settings).
- Bio - a short description written in your own words (up to 160 characters).
- Social links - links to your external accounts (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Bluesky, Snapchat, personal website), displayed as clickable buttons.
Connecting with Others
From your public profile, other Deaku users can:
- Send a connection request to add you to their network.
- Send a Direct Message (if you allow messages from non-connections, or once connected).
- Send a collaboration proposal (if you accept proposals, or once connected).
- Share your profile using the Share button next to your name - this copies your profile URL to the clipboard.
These actions are governed by your Privacy & Preferences settings.
Viewing Profiles Inside Deaku
Clicking someone's avatar inside Deaku opens their profile in a popup. As well as their details, it shows any shared workspaces you both belong to.
From the ⋯ menu on another user's profile you can:
- Report user - flag them to the Deaku team.
- Block user - you won't see each other in direct messages, and their messages are hidden from you in shared channels. They aren't told they've been blocked. Choose Unblock user to undo this at any time.
Updating Your Profile
To update your profile details, go to Account Settings by clicking on your avatar in the top right and selecting from the dropdown menu. Profile picture, bio, social links, badge selection, and privacy preferences are all managed from there. To change your username, click Change Username in the Account Security section. Click View Profile to see your profile as others see it.
